Rivalry History
Over time, the cricket rivalry between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, often known as the "Naagin Derby," has grown more intense, with both teams putting on incredible performances in a variety of formats. Importantly, in May 2021, Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka in their first-ever ODI series, with Mushfiqur Rahim playing a key role with 125 runs in the second ODI.
In the history of Test cricket, Sri Lanka has dominated, winning 20 of 26 games, while Bangladesh has only won once. But subsequent meetings have been more competitive, which is an indication of Bangladesh's development in the longest format.
