Delhi Capitals has qualified for the playoffs of the second season of the Women's Premier League. The team defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by one run in a thrilling match. With this victory, the Delhi team has come on top in the current season. Not only this, the team has secured its place in the top-4 by scoring 10 points.

The host team won the toss and batted at Arun Jaitley Ground and scored 181 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Bengaluru batters could score only 180 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Jemimah Rodriguez was the player of the match. He played an innings of 58 runs on 36 balls.

Richa Ghosh's Half-Century, But The Team Lost

Wicketkeeper-batsman Richa Ghosh played a brilliant inning of 51 runs on 29 balls but could not lead her team to victory. Sophie Devine contributed 26 runs on 16 balls.

After losing the wicket of captain Mandhana, she, along with Elise Perry and Sophie Molyneux, took over the innings. Both of them made a partnership of 80 runs on 57 balls for the second wicket. Ellis scored 49 runs on 32 balls. She could not complete her half-century. Also, Sophie Molyneux scored 33 runs on 30 balls.

Lanning-Verma Gave A Strong Start

Captain Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma gave a strong start to Delhi after winning the toss and coming to bat. Both of them made an opening partnership of 54 runs on 38 balls. Lanning scored 29 runs on 26 balls, and Verma scored 23 runs on 18 balls. Asha Shobhana broke the partnership of these two by getting Shafali caught by Sophie Molyneux.

Rodriguez's Second Half-Century, Capsy Scored 48 Runs

After losing the wicket of Shafali Verma for 54 runs, Jemimah Rodriguez took charge. He scored 58 runs on 36 balls with the help of 8 fours and one six. He scored runs at a strike rate of 161.11. Jemima made an important partnership of 97 runs on 62 balls with Alice Capsey for the third wicket. This partnership took the team's score beyond 150.

Asha-Shreyanka Made A Comeback In The Death Overs

Delhi team had scored 143 runs for two wickets in 16 overs, and it seemed that the team's score would cross 200, but in the death overs, Asha Shobhana and Shreyanka Patil made a comeback for Bengaluru and stopped the score at 181 runs. Shreyanka took four wickets, and Asha took one wicket.
