Gautam Gambhir and Sanath Jayasuriya will both be coaching in international cricket for the first time.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made changes to India's Sri Lanka tour to be held later this month. Now India's tour of Sri Lanka will start from July 27 instead of 26. Also, the ODI series starting on August 1 will now start from August 2.
Earlier on Thursday, the Sri Lankan Cricket Board released the schedule of the series of 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches. At the same time, just before the tour, Sri Lanka's T20 captain Wanindu Hasaranga also left the captaincy.
This tour will be the first assignment of the newly appointed head coach of the Indian team, Gautam Gambhir. Also, former Sri Lankan legendary batsman Sanath Jayasuriya will also start his international coaching career with this tour.
Now according to the released schedule, the first match of the T20 series will be played in Pallekele on July 27 from 7:00 pm. The ODI series will start from August 2 in Colombo. At present, both the teams have not been announced for this tour.
