Delhi lost the third match of the season: Rajasthan won by 57 runs
Delhi Capitals, playing in the absence of Rishabh Pant, have lost the third match in the current season of the Indian Premier League. The team was defeated by Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs. This is Rajasthan's overall 14th win over Delhi.
This is Rajasthan second win in three matches. The team is at the top of the points table. Whereas, Delhi is at the ninth position.
Delhi won the toss and decided to bowl first at the Baraspara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. Batting first, Rajasthan Royals scored 199 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing a target of 200 runs, the Delhi Capitals batsmen could only manage 142 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs.
Rajasthan got a strong start
Delhi got a jolt In the 11th match of the season, the openers of Rajasthan gave a strong start to the team. After the half-century partnership of Yashasvi-Butler, Shimron Hetmyer scored 199 runs by playing a short and quick innings. Bolt gave initial shocks to Delhi chasing the target of 200. In the middle, Warner-Yadav tried unsuccessfully to handle the innings, but Chahal and Ashwin did not let the middle order run. Ultimately Delhi lost the match.
Jaiswal scored the second half-century of the season
Rajasthan opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his second half-century of the current season. He completed his half-century off 25 balls. He made a blistering start by hitting 5 fours in the first over of Khaleel Ahmed. Jaiswal scored his 5th half-century in the league. He is the second batsman to score a second half-century this season. Gaikwad of Chennai has also scored two half-centuries.
