Duleep Trophy - Shashwat Rawat century in the final round

The final round of Duleep Trophy has started. On Thursday, the match between India-A and India-C started at A Stadium in Anantapur, while the match between India-B and India-D started at B Stadium.

By the end of the first day's play, India-D scored 306 runs after losing 5 wickets. Sanju Samson remained not out after scoring 89 runs from the team. On the other hand, India-A scored 224 runs after losing 7 wickets. Shashwat Rawat remained not out after scoring a century from the team.

India-A vs India-C

On Thursday, in Anantapur, India-C captain Rituraj Gaikwad won the toss and chose bowling. India-A lost 5 wickets at a score of 36 runs. Pratham Singh could score only 6, Mayank Agarwal 6, Tilak Verma 5 and Riyan Parag 2 runs. Kumar Kushagra could not even open the account.

Shashwat Rawat again took charge of the team along with Shams Mulani. Both of them made a fifty partnership and took the team past 100. Mulani was dismissed after scoring 44 runs. After him, Tanush Kotian could also score only 10 runs.

Rawat hit a century

Padikkal was dismissed after scoring 50 and Bharat 52 runs. Ricky Bhui, who came at number-3, also hit a fifty, he added 54 runs with Nishant Sindhu. Bhui got out after scoring 56 and Nishant 19. Samson came close to century

After losing 5 wickets at a score of 216 runs, Sanju Samson and Saransh Jain took charge of India-D. Both of them took the team's score to 306 by the end of the day's play. India-C on top in the points table

The winner will be decided from the last round of Duleep Trophy, the team that is at the top of the points table will become the champion. Currently, India-C is at number one with 9 points. India-B has 7 and India-A has 6 points. India-D has not won a single match so far, so they have no points.

6 points are awarded for a direct win in the tournament, 3 points for a draw with a lead in the first innings and 1 point for trailing in a draw.

Last chance for Shreyas, Riyan, Samson and Rinku

The last round of the tournament is the last chance for star players like Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag and Rinku Singh to prove themselves before the current Test season. The next first class tournament after this competition is the Ranji season from October 11 and by then the team will be announced for the New Zealand Test series starting from October 16.
