West Indies veteran cricketer Dwayne Bravo has announced his retirement from all formats of cricket. Bravo, the all-time top wicket-taker in T20, wrote in an Insta post on Thursday night - 'My mind wants to play, but the body is not supporting me. I do not want to put myself in a situation where I disappoint my teammates, fans and team. Therefore, I announce my retirement with a heavy heart.'

The 40-year-old cricketer had said before the season that this would be his last season, but due to injury he had to announce his retirement in the middle of the Caribbean Premier League. Bravo said goodbye to IPL last year. He has taken 631 wickets in 582 T20 matches. He is the highest wicket-taker in this format.

He wrote- 'Most importantly, I could fulfill my dreams because I always gave my 100%, although I want to continue it, but now it's time to face reality.

Said goodbye to international cricket in 2021

Bravo retired from international cricket 3 years ago in 2021, but he is also coaching along with playing in franchise cricket. Bravo worked with IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings for the last 12 months. He was also made the bowling consultant of Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Won CPL, IPL, PSL and Big Bash League

Bravo has won franchise tournaments like Caribbean Premier League, Indian Premier League, Pakistan Super League and Big Bash with different teams in his 18-year T20 career.

Not only this, he has also won the T20 World Cup twice with West Indies.
