On July 11th, Day 2 of the 3rd test against England at Lord's, India's legacy bowlers Jasprit Bumrah took 5 5-wicket haul, England all out 387 in their 1 inning.

Bumrah's outstanding comeback, England all out scored of 387

England came back on 251/4. Despite an early threat from Jasprit Bumrah, Joe Root hit his 37th Test ton, scoring 104 off 199 balls.

Following Root's dismissal, Bumrah created a ferocious spell, finishing with 5/74, which included dismissing Root, Chris Woakes, and Ben Stokes for 44. This helped India bowl England out for 387.

Brydon Carse (56) and Jamie Smith (51) held the tail steady and put together a strong 84-run partnership at the final wicket.

India Top-order slide

After a four-year absence, Archer caught Yashasvi Jaiswal leg before wicket in his third delivery as England came back with speed.

Karun Nair contributed 40 runs after Shubman Gill was dismissed for 16 by Chris Woakes, and Root made a spectacular low catch at slip, his record 211th in Tests.

KL With Rishabh Pant on 19*, Rahul finished the day undefeated at 53, leading India to 145/3 at stumps, 242 behind.

Overview Day 2: England Aim Early Break, India Need Strong Partnership

There will be a lot on the line on Day 3, as England leads by 242 runs. England aims for early breakthroughs, while India needs a strong second-wicket partnership to regroup. The pitch still has something to offer bowlers and hitters, and momentum is still evenly distributed, but India needs to put in more effort to reduce the gap.
