On 22 July, the third and final ODI was played between India Women and England Women at Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street, as part of the India Women's tour of England 2025. The Indian women's team won the last ODI match, beating England by 13 runs. India sealed the ODI series 2-1. 

India finished the tour with an amazing victory, driven by a brilliant century from captain Harmanpreet Kaur and an incredible six-wicket haul from rookie bowler Kranti Gaud.

After winning the toss, India Women chose to bat first and amassed a commanding 318/5 in 50 overs. Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain, took the lead with an incredible 102 off 84 balls that included three sixes and eleven fours. She received assistance from Deepti Sharma, who scored a rapid 45 off 32 balls* in the last overs, and opener Smriti Mandhana, who hit a fluid 65.

 

India played a well-paced innings, adding more than 90 runs in the final 10 overs to surpass the psychological 300-mark, a difficult objective on the Riverside surface.

Kranti’s 6 wickets, England’s spirited chase falls short

In response, England Women got off to a strong start thanks to a 74-run opening partnership between Emma Lamb and Tammy Beaumont. The middle-order batswoman Natalie Sciver-Brunt put up a valiant 60 off 52 to keep England in the hunt after Beaumont top-scored with a tough 81 off 96 balls.

In the final overs, England stumbled despite remaining near the needed rate. In just her fifth ODI, Kranti Gaud tore through the lower order with a game-winning 6/52, causing England to be bowled out for 305 in 49.5 overs, 13 runs short.

India recovered well from losing the second match to win this match and secure the ODI series 2–1. The visitors achieved a historic result, winning their first bilateral ODI series in England since 2014. India women won their first-ever T20I series by 3-2. Indian women seal the England series by 5-3. India won the T20 series by 3-2, and the ODI by 2-1.
