Former Australia captain Mark Taylor has raised questions on Mohammad Siraj's celebration. The 60-year-old former captain said- 'Siraj has a habit of celebrating premature wickets without waiting for the umpire's decision. His senior teammates in Team India should talk to Siraj on this issue, because it feels bad to do so.'
Taylor told Nine News- 'When Siraj feels that he has dismissed the batsman, he runs towards his teammates to celebrate even before the umpire's decision comes.' The Indian fast bowler was fined 20% of his match fee by the ICC for aggressive celebration against Travis Head.
What did Taylor say about Mohammed Siraj?
As far as Mohammad Siraj is concerned, I would like his senior teammates to talk to him. Not so much about what happened with Travis Head, but he should be talked to about the fact that when he thinks he has dismissed the batsman, he does not turn to see the umpire's decision and starts celebrating. I think this is not a good sight for him and the game. I like his enthusiasm, I like his competitive nature, I like the fact that we are having a really good series, but there is also respect for the game that needs to be maintained. I think talking to senior teammates will help him understand this thing.
Siraj came into the limelight after arguing with Head
Siraj has become the topic of discussion after having a little argument with Head during the Adelaide Test. On the second day of the Pink Ball Test match on December 7, Head hit a six off Siraj's ball. Then Siraj bowled him out on the very next ball.
