Former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi said: Virat will forget India hospitality as soon as he comes to Pakistan

Before the Champions Trophy, former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has made a big statement about Virat Kohli. He said that- "If Virat Kohli comes to Pakistan, he will forget India's hospitality. Virat has a lot of fans in Pakistan, we are eager to see him play in Pakistan"

After India won the T20 World Cup 2024, Virat Kohli retired from the T20 format. Now everyone's eyes are on the Champions Trophy to be held next year, which will be held in Pakistan. On this, today news agency ANI got the news from BCCI sources that BCCI will ask ICC to hold India's matches in Dubai or Sri Lanka instead of Pakistan. In such a situation, former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has broken his silence on this subject and said that once Virat Kohli comes to Pakistan, he will forget India's hospitality.

In a media interview, Shahid Afridi spoke on many topics. On Virat Kohli playing in Pakistan, he said, "I would say that the love that Virat Kohli has received in India, Pakistani fans also love him equally. Virat Kohli is very popular among the people of Pakistan and he is liked a lot. Virat is even my favorite player."

Virat should not have retired

Shahid Afridi also said that Virat Kohli has his own class but he should not have retired from T20 cricket. According to Afridi, Virat could still continue playing in the shorter format because he is in form, fit and trains daily. At the same time, with Virat being there, he could share his experience with the youth because it would be difficult to prepare a team of all the young players at the top level at the same time. Afridi believes that Virat could still teach the youth a lot.

Virat played an innings of 76 runs in the T20 World Cup final. Cricket should be kept away from politics

India did not go to play in the Asia Cup series held in Pakistan last year. India's matches were then held in Sri Lanka. Now a similar situation prevails on the Champions Trophy 2025. Afridi said that I think cricket tournaments, series, these things should be kept away from politics. There would be nothing better than us going to each other's country and playing cricket. I don't think there can be any more beautiful relationship than this.

PCB had sent a proposal to hold all India's matches in Lahore

According to the report, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had sent a schedule of 15 matches to the ICC for the Champions Trophy 2025. In which all India's matches have been kept in Lahore due to security reasons.

An ICC board member said, "PCB has presented the draft of the 15-match ICC Champions Trophy. There will be seven matches in Lahore, three in Karachi and five in Rawalpindi. The opening matches will be held in Karachi, while two semi-finals will be held in Karachi and Rawalpindi. Apart from this, the final match will be played in Lahore. All the matches of India will be held in Lahore, if the team reaches the semi-finals then this match will also be held in Lahore."
