Gautam Gambhir returns to Australia to join the Indian team

Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir has returned to Australia. He will join the team on Tuesday. On November 26, Gautam had gone to India to attend a family function. Gautam was not a part of the team in the two-day pink ball practice match held in Canberra. India won this match by 6 wickets. The second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be played in Adelaide from December 6.

In Gambhir's absence, the Indian team trained under the supervision of other coaching staff. Assistant coach Abhishek Nair, Ryan Ten Doeschate, bowling coach Morne Morkel trained the team. Rohit joined the team on November 24. He was on paternity leave. Rohit's wife Ritika has given birth to a son.

Rohit Sharma can play in the middle order
