Geoff Allardice resigns as ICC CEO

Geoff Allardice has resigned as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the ICC. Allardice remained in this position for four years. Allardice served as interim for eight months in this position after Manu Sawhney was removed from the post in 2020. After this, he was appointed to this post in November 2021.
He has cited a desire to face new challenges. He has been working in the ICC since 2012, initially he was working as General Manager of Cricket, before that he was also working in Cricket Australia.
I am proud of all the goals we achieved
Allardice said, it was a matter of pride for me to work as the CEO of ICC. I am proud of all the goals we achieved during this time, whether it is to take cricket to the global level or to provide financial benefits to ICC members.
He further said, I am grateful to the ICC President, all the members of the board and the entire cricket group for their immense support over the last 13 years. I believe that the times to come will be exciting times for cricket and I wish the global cricket group all the best for this.
ICC President Jay Shah praised
After the resignation, Allardice has been praised by ICC President Jay Shah. Shah said, I would like to thank Geoff on behalf of the ICC Board for his contribution. He has worked hard to take cricket to the global level. We are happy to have his service and we wish him all the best for his future.
