India beat South Africa by 8 wickets: Shreyas and Sudarshan's fifty in the first ODI

India defeated South Africa by 8 wickets in the first ODI. Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan together took 9 wickets in Johannesburg. Debutant Sai Sudarshan took the team to victory by scoring a fifty. Shreyas Iyer from India also scored 52 runs.

South Africa won the toss and chose to bat first at the New Wanderers Stadium. The team was all out after scoring 116 runs in 27.3 overs. Arshdeep got 5 wickets and Avesh got 4 wickets. India achieved the target of 117 runs in just 16.4 overs.

Sudarshan scored the highest score of 55 runs. Arshdeep received the Player of the Match award. With the win in the first ODI, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series. The second ODI will be played on December 19 at the St. George Park Stadium in Kebera. This match will start at 4:30 pm Indian time.
