India vs SA Series 2025: Unique Schedule In Guwahati Test Tea Before Lunch

G11-Fantasy Cricket Prediction for Today's Match

There will be a strange change to the schedule for the 2nd test match of india vs sa series 2025 will be played in Guwahati; the tea break will take place before lunch. Both teams accepted this uncommon change and match officials in order to address the local light and weather patterns that frequently interfere with play in the northeastern city.

The BCCI and ICC match referees are forced to rethink the traditional Test match format, which includes lunch, tea, and stumps. This is due to the particular geographic and weather conditions in Assam. Early sunsets and unpredictable afternoon showers are common in November in Guwahati, which may significantly cut into the amount of playing time available in the last session of the day.

Reason Behind the Change

The Assam Cricket Association claims that this change was made to increase playing time and reduce the effects of poor lighting or weather delays. The plan is to have a longer second session when the light is at its optimum, following tea, which is now the first break. Lunch will be served later, allowing players to arrange their schedules and guaranteeing a seamless, continuous game.

This is how the updated schedule is going to appear:

  • Session 1: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM

  • Tea Break: 11:30 AM – 11:50 AM

  • Session 2: 11:50 AM – 2:30 PM

  • Lunch Break: 2:30 PM – 3:10 PM

  • Session 3: 3:10 PM – 5:00 PM (subject to light)

This format is similar to tests conducted in areas with similar light limitations, such as day-night Tests or matches.

Fans React to the Novelty

The unique schedule attracts the interest of fans at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium. While traditionalists refer to it as a "serious experiment," many regard it as a novel twist.

With this creative strategy, Guwahati will host not just another Test but one that could go down in cricket history: a match in which tea was served before lunch.
