IPL 2023: Rohit Sharma looked disappointed after the defeat against RCB

 

Fifth match of IPL 2023 was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians on 2 April. In this match held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, RCB defeated Mumbai Indians by 8 wickets. Batting first, Mumbai scored 171 runs for 7 wickets. Bangalore completed the target of 172 for the win at the loss of 2 wickets. Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma looked very disappointed after this one-sided defeat. He told the reason for the team's defeat after the match.

Rohit says bowling responsible

Rohit Sharma blamed bowling for Mumbai's defeat. During the presentation ceremony, the captain of Mumbai Indians said, 'The beginning of the match was not good. But Tilak Verma's effort was good. But the bowlers did not bowl well in the match. We didn't bat well either. The pitch was conducive to batting. Tilak Verma played some shots, he showed courage. We could reach a good total through Tilak. But we didn't bat according to our potential. There was a shortfall of 30-40 runs.

During the presentation ceremony, when Rohit Sharma was asked about Jasprit Bumrah, he said, 'For the last 6-8 months I have become used to playing without Bumrah. We cannot control those things which are not in our control. Rest of the people are also talented. Many people have not played IPL. This was the first match of the season. There is still a lot to look forward to.

Mumbai Indians finished last season

Talking about IPL 2022, the performance of Mumbai Indians was embarrassing. Last season, the Mumbai team was at the last, 10th position in the points table. In IPL 2022, Rohit Sharma's team won only 4 out of 14 matches. In the 16th season too, Mumbai Indians started with a defeat. But this time the Mumbai team is stronger than last season. Rohit's team can make a tremendous comeback in the next match.
