IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants Appointed This African Legend As Assistant Coach

Lucknow Super Giants has signed former South African all-rounder Lance Klusener as the assistant coach for IPL 2024. Klusener is also in charge of the Super Giants' SA20 affiliate (Durban's Super Giants). Klusener will join head coach Justin Langer and fellow assistant coach S Sriram in the Super Giants' backroom.

This will be Klusener's second stint as a coach in the IPL. He worked as an assistant to former South Africa captain and Mumbai Indians coach Shaun Pollock in the early years of the IPL.

Under Klusener's guidance, Guyana Amazon Warriors won their first CPL title last year. Klusener will reunite with West Indies sensation Shamar Joseph in the IPL. The two had previously worked together for the Amazon Warriors in the CPL.

Klusener has also been the head coach of Afghanistan and the batting coach of South Africa and Zimbabwe. He has also featured with Tripura in the Indian domestic circuit. Klusener played 49 Tests and 171 ODIs for South Africa between 1996 and 2004. The Super Giants team will start their IPL 2024 campaign against Rajasthan Royals on March 24 in Jaipur.
