IPL commentary in 13 languages for the first time: Finch, Smith and Mithali Raj will debut

This time for the first time in IPL, commentary will be in Punjabi, Odia and Bhojpuri languages as well. That is, now there will be commentary on IPL in 13 languages including Hindi, English. There will be commentary in 9 languages including Hindi, English on Star Sports. While it will be aired in 13 languages on Jio Cinema. Star TV and Jio Cinema will have commentary in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Malayalam languages. Apart from this, there will be live commentary of cricket on Jio in Punjabi, Oriya and Bhojpuri. The 16th season of IPL is starting from Friday. The first match will be played against Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at 7.30 pm at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Many legendary cricketers will debut on Jio and Star Sports for commentary in so many languages in IPL. These include Murali Vijay, S Sreesanth, Yusuf Pathan, Mithali Raj and former Australia captain Aaron Finch and Australian cricketer Steve Smith.

Star has included Sunil Gavaskar, Jacques Kallis, Kevin Pietersen, Matthew Hayden, Aaron Finch, Tom Moody, Paul Collingwood, Daniel Vettori, Danny Morrison, Steve Smith and David Hussey in the English panel. Aaron Finch and Steve Smith will be seen holding the bat in place of Mike Thame for the first time in the IPL.
Chris Gayle, who has hit the most sixes in IPL, is included in the English commentary panel of Geo Cinema. Apart from them, AB de Villiers, Eoin Morgan, Brett Lee, who have spread their wings in IPL, have also been included in the English commentary panel. Also included in the panel are Graeme Swann, Graeme Smith, Scott Styris, Sanjana Ganesan, Supriya Singh, Suhail Chandhok.
Mithali, Sehwag will do Hindi commentary
The Hindi commentary panel includes Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Mithali Raj, Mohammad Kaif, Sanjay Manjrekar, Imran Tahir, Deep Das Gupta, Ajay Mehra, Padmajeet Sehrawat, Jatin Sapru.
Whereas Jio Cinema has roped in Akash Chopra, Parthiv Patel, Ovesh Shah, Zaheer Khan, Suresh Raina, Anil Kumble, RP Singh, Pragyan Ojha, Nikhil Chopra, Saba Karim, Anant Tyagi, Riddhima Pathak, Surbhi Vaidya, Glenn Saldanha.
There will be 74 matches in 59 days
A total of 74 matches will be played between 10 teams in this 59-day tournament. Each team will play 14 matches, 7 at home and 7 away from the opposition team. There will be 70 league stage matches between 10 teams. After the league stage, the top-4 teams of the points table will qualify for the playoffs.
