G11-Fantasy Cricket Prediction for Today's Match

The former Bangladeshi captain Tamim Iqbal's possible return to international cricket is being discussed as the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 nears. The 2nd match of ICC Champion Trophy 2025 will be played between India v Bangladesh on 20 February 2025. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has been to communicate with Tamim Iqbal, who last played for Bangladesh in September 2023.

Why Tamim Not Playing Since September 2023?

After an argument with then-BCB President Nazmul Hassan, Tamim declared his retirement from international cricket in July 2023. Soon later, the decision changed as a result of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh's involvement. In September 2023, Tamim played two ODIs against New Zealand after resigning as captain. He hasn't played for the national team since being left out of the squad for the 2023 ODI World Cup. He continued to play local cricket during this time, most notably captaining Fortune Barisal in their title defense and leading them to win in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024.

Tamim Met With BCB's Chief Selector

To talk about an upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 coming, Tamim met with Gazi Ashraf Hossain, BCB's chief selector, in Sylhet on January 8, 2025. After making the decision, Tamim asked for an hour to talk with his loved ones and supporters. The BCB is prepared to wait for Tamim's decision until January 12 in order to publish the tournament's final squad.

Gazi Ashraf stated, "We give respect to a cricketer like Tamim Iqbal, so he can take his chance before reporting to us," highlighting the importance of giving Tamim the time he needs to make a decision.
