Since the Taliban acquired control of Afghanistan in 2021, women&#39;s rights have been severely restricted, including the restriction on women participating in sports. The International Cricket Council&#39;s (ICC) rules, which demand that full member countries promote and advance women&#39;s cricket, are broken by this. Afghanistan&#39;s women&#39;s cricket team has been split as a result, and many of its former players are outside the country.

The BCCI has finalized 2 venues for the third season of the Women&#39;s Premier League (WPL). All matches will be played between 5 teams in Baroda and Lucknow. The tournament can start from 6th or 7th February. Second phase matches will be held in Baroda, which also includes qualifiers and finals.

The official schedule of the tournament is yet to be released. However, the board has informed Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) and Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) about organizing matches on their grounds. The official announcement of the schedule will be made in a few days.

<h2>Women&#39;s International match was held in Baroda</h2>

Baroda has Kotambi Stadium, which was inaugurated only last month. A match was played here between India and West Indies. 3 ODIs were held here. Senior Women&#39;s T20 Tournament and Ranji Trophy matches have also been held in this stadium.

Floodlights have been installed in the stadium. The knockout matches of Vijay Hazare Trophy starting from 9th January will be held here, in which the testing of these lights will also be done.
