Team India's all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja may be out of the second test against England. He felt a hamstring strain on the fourth day of the first Test in Hyderabad. After getting the leg scanned, his reports are yet to come. Only after the reports come will it be confirmed how serious his injury is.
According to the report of Cricbuzz, keeping in mind the long series, Jadeja may be rested from the second Test. If he sits out, Kuldeep Yadav will replace him in Visakhapatnam.
Jadeja was seen in pain after being run out
Ravindra Jadeja was run out by a direct hit from English captain Ben Stokes on the fourth day of the Hyderabad Test. He faced difficulties in walking while returning to the pavilion. After the match was over, Jadeja got his leg scanned in Hyderabad itself.
Jadeja's scan report has been sent to Mumbai Institute, where scan reports of all players are sent. After the report comes, it will be confirmed by Monday evening whether Jadeja will be out of one test or the entire series.
Dravid said - will take decision after talking to physio
Coach Rahul Dravid said that he has not yet talked to the team physio about Jadeja's injury. Will decide on Jadeja's play only after talking to the physio.
According to Cricbuzz, Jadeja's injury is not serious, he has felt a mild strain. If he cannot play the second test, he will be able to play the third match. The second match will be played in Visakhapatnam from 2nd February and the third match will be played in Rajkot from 15th February.
Jadeja scored the highest score of 87 runs for India in the first innings of the first Test. He also took a total of 5 wickets in the match. If he does not play, the team will miss his fielding along with bowling and batting.
Kuldeep can replace Jadeja
If Jadeja does not play the second Test, then Kuldeep Yadav will take his place in the playing 11 of the second Test. Kuldeep is the fourth spinner included in the squad, he was not included in the playing 11 of the first Test. In the first test, the team gave a chance to Akshar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin as spinners along with Jadeja.
Team India will remain in Hyderabad on Monday, where the fifth day of the first Test was to be played. Both the teams will leave for Visakhapatnam on Tuesday. Where the second test of the series will be played from 2 February. England have taken a 1-0 lead in the series by winning the first test by 28 runs.
