Jai Shah said: BCCI will give 8.5 crores to IOA for Paris Olympics
BCCI has announced a contribution of Rs 8.5 crore to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) for the Paris Olympics.
BCCI Secretary Jai Shah wrote through X post on Sunday that I am proud to announce that BCCI will support our best athletes representing India in Paris Olympics-2024. We are giving Rs 8.5 crore to IOA for this campaign (Olympics).
Team India was given 125 crores for winning the World Cup
BCCI had given a reward of Rs 125 crore to the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup a few days ago. From this amount, 15 players and former head coach Rahul Dravid got Rs 5 crore each. However, Dravid later took only Rs 2.5 crore, equal to the rest of the coaching staff.
Paris Olympics will start from 26th July, 117 Indian players will participate
Paris Olympics is starting from 26th July. 117 players from India will participate in it. Apart from these players, the Sports Ministry has also approved 140 members of the support staff.
The highest number of players in the Indian team is 29 from athletics, including 11 women and 18 men. After athletics, there are 21 players in shooting and 19 in hockey. 8 players from India will participate in table tennis, while 7 players including two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu will participate in badminton. 6-6 players will participate in wrestling, archery and boxing. After this, 4 players will participate in golf, 3 in tennis, 2 in swimming, 2 in sailing. One player each will participate in horse riding, judo, rowing and weightlifting.
