KL Rahul out of Rajkot Test: Recovering from injury in NCA, Devdutt Padikkal included in the squad in his place

Indian cricket team's middle order batsman KL Rahul has been ruled out of the third Test against England in Rajkot. Devdutt Padikkal has been included in the team in his place. BCCI made its official announcement on Monday.

Rahul is currently rehabbing at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). After the first test, KL Rahul complained of pain in his thigh. Rahul could not play the second match after getting injured in the first test.

The third match of the 5-Test series between India and England will be played in Rajkot from 15 February.

Padikkal has a chance to debut

Karnataka's Devdutt Padikkal has a chance to debut in the Indian Test team. Padikkal has previously played T-20 cricket for India. Padikkal is one of the top players of Karnataka. He has 2227 runs in 31 matches in first class cricket, which includes 12 half-centuries and 6 centuries. So far in this Ranji season, Devdutt Padikkal has scored 556 runs at an average of 92.66.

Along with Rahul, Jadeja is also under the surveillance of NCA.

The third Test will be played in Rajkot from 15 February. The fourth Test will be held in Ranchi from 23 February and the 5th Test will be held in Dharamshala from 7 March.
