Little And Adair Out, IRE Call Ben Calitz For England’s T20I Series

The three-match T20I series between Ireland and England has been confirmed, and youthful all-rounder Ben Calitz has received his first call-up. The defending T20 World Cup champions will put Ireland to the test in the series, which is scheduled to start later this month in England. 

With the ICC Men's T20 World Cup qualifiers and other bilateral assignments scheduled later in the year, Ireland views the series against England as essential preparation for a packed international schedule.

England will be playing the 3-match T20I series against South Africa from September 10 to 14 of South Africa's tour of England 2025

Why are Little and Adair Out of the England series?

The loss of two top seamers, Mark Adair and Josh Little, who are both out with injuries, is the squad's main talking point. Little, the top fast bowler in Ireland and a frequent participant in franchise leagues worldwide, has been dealing with a workload-related problem and has not fully recovered. Adair, on the other hand, missed recent domestic games due to a side ailment.

The 21-year-old all-rounder Calitz, who took part in Ireland's Emerging Player program, has drawn the attention of selectors thanks to his steady performances in inter-provincial games. A flexible alternative, he can contribute in the middle order and offer valuable overs with the ball.
