MI And DC Eye On Final Spot, Qualification Scenario For Both Teams

On May 19, in the 61st match of IPL 2025, SRH beat LSG by 6 wickets, and eliminated LSG from the race of playoff. This was the fifth team to be eliminated from the playoff race after CSK, RR, SRH, and KKR. 

Now for the qualification of Playoffs of IPL 2025, there are already 3 teams that qualify RCB, GT, and PBKS, after GT beat DC by 10 wickets. Now only the final spot is remaining for the playoffs. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals only one team will play in the playoffs.

Mumbai Indians:

Current Position: 4th

Remaining Matches: DC(21 May(H)), PBKS(26 May(A))

Qualification Scenario:

• Won both the matches, they will reach max 18 points
• If MI won 1 of 2 remaining matches, their points will be 16, DC needs to lose their one match.
• Delhi Capitals need to lose both their matches. 

Delhi Capitals:

Current Points: 12

Current Position: 5th
Net Run Rate: +0.260

Remaining Matches: MI(21 May(A)), PBKS(24 May(A))

Qualification Scenario:

• Won both the matches, they will reach max 16 points
• If DC won 1 of 2 remaining matches, their points will be 14, Mumbai Indians need to lose both their matches, Both points will be the same, DC need to win more than 25 runs or chase 1 overs before,  how many overs MI will play. 
• If MI lose their 1 match and DC won their both matches, both points will be equal 16 points each. DC need to win both matches with 30 runs or chase 2 overs before, how many overs MI will play.

The final decider match will be played on 21 May between Mumbai Indians v Delhi Capitals 63rd match in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
