MI Won By 100 Runs: MI Top Of The Table, RR Officially Knock Out

The Mumbai Indians (MI) put on a strong show to defeat the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 100 runs in the 50th IPL 2025 match, which took place on May 1 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. With this victory, MI moved up to the top of the points table for the sixth straight game and eliminated RR from postseason contention.

MI chose to bat first and built a commanding 217/2 in their 20 overs. Rohit Sharma, who put up a solid 53 off 36 balls, and Ryan Rickelton, who top-scored with 61 runs off 38 balls, supported the innings. Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav added the final touches, both of whom scored quick 48s off of 23 deliveries to help MI to their highest total of the year.

In response, RR's batting order broke down under duress, scoring just 117 runs in 16.1 overs. With a heroic thirty off twenty-seven balls, Jofra Archer was the top scorer. With Trent Boult collecting 3 for 28, Karn Sharma grabbing 3 wickets for 23 runs, and Jasprit Bumrah adding 2 for 15, MI's spinners were unrelenting in their destruction of RR's batting order.
 

Along with retaining MI's top spot in the IPL 2025 rankings, this outstanding performance put an end to RR's hopes of qualifying for the playoffs.
