The Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by an impressive 54-run margin in the 45th IPL 2025 match, played on April 27 at Wankhede Stadium. This victory was their fifth straight and moved them up to second position in the standings.

MI chose to bat first and built a commanding 215/7 in their 20 overs. With a quick 58 off 32 balls, Ryan Rickelton spearheaded the attack, and Suryakumar Yadav added a smooth 54 off 28 deliveries. The innings was further strengthened by late-order cameos from debutant Corbin Bosch (20 off 10) and Naman Dhir (25* off 11).

Bumrah and Boult’s bowling performance, LSG able to score 161

In reply, MI's steady bowling attack proved too much for LSG, who were swept out for 161 in the last over. With 35 runs, Ayush Badoni led the way, followed by Mitchell Marsh with 34. The most impressive bowler was Jasprit Bumrah, who took four wickets for twenty-two runs, including three in one over. Will Jacks contributed two wickets, and Trent Boult provided strong support with three.
