Cricket Australia Statement On Marsh Back Injury

They said that “Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the upcoming ICC Men’s Champion’s Trophy with ongoing lower back pain and dysfunction”.

Who Will Replace Marsh?

The responsibility of organizing the team rests with the Australian selectors. To cover Marsh's leave, options include promoting up-and-coming players or calling up seasoned all-rounders like Aaron Hardie or Marcus Stoinis. Attention must also be paid to the leadership position. If Cummins is unfit, possible like Steve Smith or Alex Carey may be considered to take over as captain.

Will He Play IPL 2025?

Along with missing the Champions Trophy, Marsh's serious back injury creates questions about whether he will play in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, in which he has been assigned with the Lucknow SuperGiants.
