Madhya Pradesh's right-handed batsman Rajat Patidar can play the first two Tests of the Test series against England starting on Thursday. According to news agency ANI, he will be included in the team in place of Virat Kohli. Kohli will not play the first two Tests due to personal reasons.

The news agency, quoting BCCI sources, has reported that Rajat has been called to Hyderabad on Wednesday to play the test match. The first test is starting here from 25th January. If he gets a chance, this will be the first international test for this 30-year-old batsman.

Rajat was part of India A's Test series against England A from January 12. Today he was to play in the second test match starting against England A, but now he is not a part of the team.

Patidar made his international debut on 21 December 2023 in the third ODI against South Africa, where he opened and scored 22 runs in 16 balls with a strike rate of 137.50.

BCCI gave leave to Kohli

BCCI said on Monday, January 22 that Virat Kohli spoke to captain Rohit Sharma, selectors and team management and said- 'He has always emphasized that representing the country should always be his top priority, but some personal circumstances. Demands their presence and complete attention.

Patidar played an inning of 151 runs for India-A.

Last week, Patidar scored 151 runs for India A in the first Test against England A. Patidar scored 151 runs in 158 balls at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This included 19 fours and 5 sixes.

The first match will be held in Hyderabad

India and England have to play a 5-Test series from January 25. This series will run till March 7. The first matches will be played at Hyderabad Stadium.

This series is important from WTC point of view

This series is important from the point of view of the World Test Championship. Currently, the Indian team is at second place in the points table of the championship, while England is at number 7.
