Before IPL 2024, changes may be seen in the coaching unit of Sunrisers Hyderabad. The team's current bowling coach, Dale Steyn, may be rested in this tournament. In his place, former New Zealand all-rounder James Franklin is likely to be given a big responsibility.

According to media reports, Dale Steyn, who will take charge of the bowling unit of Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2022, has withdrawn his name from the upcoming tournament due to personal reasons. In such a situation, the team management can appoint Franklin as the bowling coach.

Vettori May Get Support From Franklin

Franklin, who played for Mumbai Indians in 2011 and 2012, will be seen working with head coach Daniel Vettori once again in the upcoming tournament. Earlier, the pair have worked together in Middlesex (county cricket) and Birmingham Phoenix (The Hundred). Franklin also served as head coach at Durham, and currently serves as assistant coach at Islamabad United in the PSL.

IPL 2024 will start on March 22. Before this, there may be a big change in the captaincy of Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the 17th edition of the tournament, Australian captain Pat Cummins may be given new responsibility in place of Aiden Markram. Cummins's performance in IPL has not been anything special. He took 45 wickets in 42 matches. Apart from this, he scored 379 runs with the help of three half-centuries. However, Cummins's performance at the international level has been excellent. Under his leadership, Australia won the World Cup Test Championship and ODI World Cup against India, which has greatly impressed the team management of Sunrisers Hyderabad. The veteran bowler took 57 wickets in 52 T20 international matches.
