The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has formally announced a 22-player squad, captained by the seasoned Rashid Khan, for the Asia Cup 2025 and the UAE Tri-Series 2025, which will be played between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.

The team will first gather for a two-week training camp in the United Arab Emirates, where they will focus on strategy, match readiness, and fitness before intense tournament action.

Leadership & Camp Focus

After his poor performance in recent tournaments, including a subpar IPL season, Rashid Khan is back as captain of the T20 team with the full support of the ACB. The board continues to have faith in his capacity to perform well under duress on the global scene.

Afghanistan Strategy

Afghanistan's preparations show a confident, spin-oriented approach that is ideal for the UAE. Development players like Ghazanfar, Kharoti, and Bashir Ahmad will be thoroughly reviewed at camp, the ACB has stressed, intending to allow them to contend for final slots alongside more well-known players.
