Rashid Khan will not play against India: Back injury recovered again, had undergone surgery 2 months ago

Afghanistan's star all-rounder Rashid Khan will not be able to play the T20 series against India. His back injury has recovered again. Rashid had undergone back surgery 2 months ago.

Afghan team captain Ibrahim Zadran told before the first T20 that Rashid is not fit to play the match. His absence will be felt, but top class spinners like Mujeeb, Noor and Nabi will be available.

The T-20 series between India and Afghanistan is starting from tomorrow i.e. Thursday. The first match will be played at IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

Rashid not fully fit
The 25-year-old star all-rounder had undergone back surgery two months ago. He reached Chandigarh with the team and also bowled for some time, but before the match, captain Ibrahim Zadran said, 'Rashid is not completely fit, it will take some more time for him to become match fit.'

'Hopefully Rashid will get fit soon'
Ibrahim Zadran said, 'Rashid is traveling with the team but he is not fit at the moment. Hopefully he will get fit soon. He is rehabbing in coordination with the doctors and his absence will be felt in the series.

'The team is still strong'
Zadran further said, 'Rashid's experience is important but even without him the team is strong. In the spin department, the responsibility of making the team win will be on Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Noor Ahmed. The most experienced Mohammad Nabi will also be available for selection.

'It will be difficult to play against India in India but the team has come here to show its skills. We have many good T20 players. The players are playing good cricket and I am sure that we will be able to give good competition to Team India.

Afghanistan has not been able to win against India yet
The first T20 will be played between India and Afghanistan on 11 January. Afghanistan team has come to India for the first time to play 3 T-20 series against India. The first match will be played at IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. Whereas the second match will be held in Indore on 14th January and the third match will be held in Bengaluru on 17th January.

Rehman, Fazalhaq Farooqui, Farid Ahmed, Naveen Ul Haq, Noor Ahmed, Mohammad Saleem, Qais Ahmed, Gulbadin Naib and Rashid Khan.
