The star cricketer made his international debut on 8 February 2009 in Colombo against Sri Lanka. In the first match, Jadeja led the team to victory by scoring an unbeaten 60 runs. He impressed everyone with his performance, after which he got a chance to debut in the T20 team just two days later. Jadeja shared an emotional post on completing 15 years in international cricket. Jadeja, who has played 69 Tests, 197 ODIs, and 66 T20 Internationals for India, could not be a part of the second Test match of the ongoing five-match series against England. He became a victim of a hamstring strain in the match played in Hyderabad, due to which he was rested in the Test match played in Visakhapatnam. He is under the supervision of the BCCI medical team at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and is undergoing treatment.

Jadeja had taken a total of five wickets in the first match of this series. Apart from this, he played a brilliant inning of 87 runs against England in the first innings. At the same time, in the second innings, he remained unbeaten after scoring six runs. However, India lost this match by 28 runs. BCCI may soon announce Team India for the remaining matches of this series, in which Ravindra Jadeja may make a comeback.
