WPL 2025: RCB Scenario For Playoff, After UP Warriorz Eliminate

After Gujarat Giants' five-wicket victory over Delhi Capital, UP Warriorz is now the first team to be declared eliminated from the WPL 2025. In a position of weakness are the defending champions, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). There are now more chances for RCB to make it to the playoffs since the UP Warriorz (UPW) were eliminated yesterday.

RCB's Path to Qualification:

RCB has two matches remaining in the league stage. To enhance their chances of qualifying for the playoffs, RCB must:

1. Win the Next Two Games: If RCB wins the next two games, their total will increase to 8 points. They would be in a good position to make the playoffs with this point total.
2. Increase Net Run Rate (NRR): Winning just could not have been sufficient to support RCB, since their current NRR is -0.244. To increase their NRR, which could be a deciding factor in tie-break situations, they must win by significant percentages.
3. Dependency on Other Final results: RCB's history isn't totally in their control, even after winning back-to-back games. They require successful results in games with right away competitors: UP Warriors lost their last match that helped RCB to increase their position for Playoffs. Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians lose their matches that help RCb to increase their position.
