RCB Won By 7 Wickets: Virat & Salt’s Made Opening Night Dominated

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season began on March 22 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata with an exciting first-round match between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the defending champs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). But the innings was supported by a strong 103-run partnership between Sunil Narine and captain Ajinkya Rahane. Narine made a crucial 44 off 26 deliveries, and Rahane played a captain's knock, scoring a quick 56 off 31 balls. With the help of their partnership, KKr set the target of 175. 

KKR's progress ended by the outstanding bowling effort of spinner Krunal Pandya, who took 3 wickets for 29 runs. Additionally, Hazlewood kept up the pressure with figures of 2 for 22.

Virat and Salt’s 95 runs partnership, RCB chase the target in just 16.2 overs

An outstanding opening duo supported RCB's innings as they chased 175. Former KKR batsman Phil Salt showed his skill with a rapid 56 off 31 balls. His 95-run partnership with Virat Kohli, the backbone of the RCB, provided a solid basis for the chase. With a brilliant 59 off 36 deliveries, Kohli remained undefeated and led RCB to their goal in just 16.2 overs.
