One of the biggest cricket stadiums in India is the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, which is situated at Nava Raipur (Sector-3), just outside the city of Raipur in Chhattisgarh. The stadium, which was constructed in 2008 at an estimated cost of ₹145 crore, can accommodate about 65,000 spectators, making it the fourth largest cricket ground in the world and the third largest in India.
The stadium bears the name of Veer Narayan Singh, a 19th-century independence fighter who was instrumental in the Chhattisgarh revolt of 1857.
