Shubman Gill admitted to hospital for treatment of dengue

Team India's opener Shubman Gill has been admitted to the hospital in Chennai. Gill is suffering from dengue. According to media reports, Gill was admitted to Kauvery Hospital on Monday morning. A team of doctors kept an eye on him under the supervision of Dr. Rizwan Khan of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Gill's platelets are not improving, which is why he did not go to Delhi with the team. The team management has been given medical advice to avoid flying if platelet count is low. Earlier on Monday, BCCI had issued a statement confirming that Gill will not play in the match against Afghanistan.

Difficult to play even against Pakistan

The match between India and Pakistan will be played on 14 October. There is less possibility of Gill playing in that match also. According to sources, if Gill's condition improves in the coming days, he may be discharged from the hospital. They can return to the hotel. If his health is fine, he can go directly to Ahmedabad.

Gill did not even play India's first match against Australia due to dengue. In his place, Ishan Kishan opened the match. Who was out without opening the account? BCCI had told 6 days ago that Shubman had a high fever after reaching Chennai for the first match. When his tests were done, he was found to have dengue.
