Team India announced for ODI World Cup 2023

Team India has been announced for the ODI World Cup. BCCI Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar announced the names of 15 players of the team at 1:30 pm Indian time. Team captain Rohit Sharma was also present along with Ajit Agarkar in the press conference held in Kandy, Sri Lanka.

The ODI World Cup to be played in India is starting from 5 October. India's first match will be against Australia on October 8 at the Chepauk ground in Chennai.

15 players selected out of 18 announced for Asia Cup

Out of the 18 members of India's team that was selected for the ongoing Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, 15 players have made it to the World Cup team. Tilak Verma, the famous Krishna and Sanju Samson, who were present in the Asia Cup team, have not been able to make it to the World Cup team. Yuzvendra Chahal has also not got a chance in the team.

Ind-Pak match 14 October

The India-Pakistan match in the World Cup is to be held on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India will begin their campaign in the World Cup against Australia on October 8 in Chennai.

48 matches will be played in the World Cup

India will have ODI World for 46 days in October-November, in which 48 matches will be played. The first match will be held on October 5 in Ahmedabad between the winner and runner-up of the previous World Cup, England and New Zealand. There will be 45 matches of the group stage till 12th November. Two semi-finals will be played on 15 and 16 November and the final will be played in Ahmedabad on 19 November.

The current season of the World Cup will begin on October 5 in Ahmedabad with the defending champions England and New Zealand.
