Team India is ready for the World Cup
Team India is ready for the Mission ODI World Cup. India has made its intentions clear for the biggest cricket tournament by winning the Asia Cup. In this tournament, the management found answers to those questions which were troubling the team for a long time.
Top order in form
Along with KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer is also ready at number-4 and middle order position. The bowlers are also taking wickets in the middle overs along with powerplay. The team has also broken the streak of choking in the knockout stage.
Fast bowler in rhythm
Before the Asia Cup, the big question was whether Jasprit Bumrah would be able to prove himself after the injury or not. Mohammad Siraj will not end up alone. And would it be right to give a chance to Shardul Thakur in the playing-11 in place of Mohammed Shami?
Bumrah made a great comeback after injury. Bowled for the first time in ODI in Super-4 stage against Pakistan. Giving a great start to the team, he also took one wicket. Then he got the first wicket for India in both the Super-4 and final matches against Sri Lanka.
Siraj supported Bumrah very well. His 6 wickets wiped out Sri Lanka in the final. He put pressure on the batsmen of the opposition team and prevented them from scoring runs. Siraj took the maximum 10 wickets for India in the tournament.
The team used Shardul as the third fast bowler. He took one wicket each against Pakistan and Nepal. Took 3 important wickets in the match against Bangladesh, he took wickets in difficult situations every time.
Wicket taking bowlers in middle overs
Team India was creating pressure by taking wickets in the first 10 overs. But the bowlers were giving away too many runs in the middle overs. In the Asia Cup, this problem was also solved by the bowling of Hardik Pandya along with Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja.
Kuldeep bowled in 4 matches of Asia Cup. He did not get any wicket against Nepal and could bowl only one over in the final. He took 5 and 4 wickets in the remaining 2 matches against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. He once again emerged as the team's trump card in the middle overs.
Jadeja mostly took advantage of spin pitches. Against Nepal, he took 3 wickets for 40 runs. In the important Super-4 match against Sri Lanka, he gave only 33 runs in 10 overs and also took 2 big wickets.
Hardik took 3 wickets giving only 3 runs in the final. He also bowled tight against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super-4 stage. Hardik bowled very economically, due to which the pressure on the opposition team continued to increase.
Top order batsmen returned to form
Before the Asia Cup, Shubman Gill had flopped badly on the West Indies tour. In such a situation, talks started about replacing him with Ishan Kishan. Virat Kohli had not played ODI for a long time, while Rohit Sharma also looked out of form.
Shubman gave a befitting reply to the critics and scored 2 fifties against Pakistan and Nepal. After making a 2nd century partnership with Rohit Sharma, he scored a century while chasing in the match against Bangladesh. Shubman could not make the team win but he proved his batting ability in difficult situations.
Rohit scored 74 runs against Nepal and 58 runs against Pakistan. In the Super-4 stage match against Sri Lanka, he scored his third consecutive fifty on a difficult pitch and gave a good start to the team by scoring 53 runs. Rohit has also started looking more calm and tactical in leadership than before.
Virat once again reminded everyone about his best format by scoring 122 runs against Pakistan. Virat did not play against Bangladesh, he did not get a chance to bat in the final and against Nepal.
The problem of middle order batting order is over.
Since the retirement of Yuvraj Singh, Team India has not been able to find a batsman at the number-4 position in ODIs. After the 2019 World Cup, Shreyas solved the problem, but he could not play most of the matches due to injury. The form of KL Rahul, who was returning from injury, was also a matter of concern.
Rahul did not play the first 2 matches. But he proved both his fitness and form by scoring a century in the very first match against Pakistan. He kept wickets in all the 4 matches, took many brilliant catches and also helped captain Rohit in taking reviews many times.
Ishaan rescued the team from initial setbacks in the big match against Pakistan. He played an inning of 82 runs and took the team to a respectable score and showed that he is the best option at number-4 position. He played all 6 matches and proved himself in the opening middle order position.
Shreyas could play only one match against Pakistan, but he also looked confident in this match. If he makes a comeback in the ODI series against Australia, it will be a huge positive for India before the World Cup.
All-rounders are the biggest need
Pandya, Jaddu, Akshar proved themselves.
Team India has been insisting on having all-rounders for a long time. For this reason, both Hardik and Jadeja are part of the playing-11 and the team gives priority to the bowler who can bat even at the number-8 position. Asian
