Chennai Super Kings team has reached Chepauk Stadium in Chennai for practice before IPL. The franchisees have also started sharing many videos and photos on their social media accounts. In the latest video, Dhoni was seen going to the ground for practice. Thousands of spectators reached the stadium to see him and the team's practice.
The stadium echoed with 'Dhoni...Dhoni'
As soon as CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni reached the ground to bat. Thousands of spectators sitting in the stadium started cheering loudly 'Dhoni...Dhoni...'. In the video, Dhoni was seen wearing a practice kit and batting gear.
Dhoni said while painting - it works
CSK shared the video of painting the seats on Monday. In this video, Dhoni was seen polishing the seat with flame. He was surprised and said - it is really working. Completely yellowed. First match in Chepauk on 3rd April
The Chennai team reached Chepauk for the practice session on 3 March. The team will play its first match of the tournament on March 31 against Gujarat Titans. This match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Dhoni's last IPL could be
This could be Dhoni's last IPL. During a match last season, when he was asked if he was going to retire, Dhoni replied that whenever I retire, I will retire among my home fans. This time CSK will play the last match of the league stage at their home ground on 14th May.
The team played its last home match on 7 May 2019. In such a situation, speculations are being made that Dhoni can announce his retirement after that match. However, no official statement has come on this.
Dhoni announced his retirement from International Cricket on 15 August 2020. He played his last international match in the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup in 2019.
