IPL 2024: Top moments of SRH vs PBKS match: Punjab dropped 2 catches

 

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 2 runs in a thrilling match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday. SRH's Travis Head got a lease of life on the very first ball of the match in Mullanpur.

Punjab fielders dropped 3 catches, while Hyderabad fielders dropped 5 catches. Hyderabad dropped 3 catches in the 20th over, out of which the ball went for six twice. SRH wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen also performed a very quick stumping.

• Life to the head on the first ball

SRH opener Travis Head got life on the first ball. Kagiso Rabada bowled the first ball of the match on good length outside the off stump. Head played a shot, but the ball went into the hands of the wicketkeeper. Wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma appealed for caught behind, but the umpire declared it not out.

• Jitesh asked for a review from captain Shikhar Dhawan, but he did not take the review. Later, replays showed that the ball had hit Head's bat. If DRS had been taken, he would have had to return to the pavilion. Head took advantage of this and scored 21 runs on 15 balls.

• Dhawan took an excellent diving catch

Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan took an excellent catch in the fourth over. Arshdeep Singh bowled the second ball of the over fuller length outside the off stump. • Nitish Kumar Reddy got a lease of life in the 15th over. Harpreet Brar bowled a short pitch on the fourth ball of the over, Reddy played a big shot towards mid-wicket. Shashank Singh standing there tried to catch it but the ball slipped out of his hand and went for a four. Reddy was currently batting on 53 runs, he played an inning of 64 runs.

• Captain Shikhar Dhawan also took a catch on Harshal Patel's ball in the 16th over. Abdul Samad played a shot towards mid-off, the ball stood in the air. Dhawan could not judge the ball properly and the catch was missed.

• Harshal Patel gave life to Jaydev Unadkat on the last ball of the first innings. Sam Curran bowled a slower ball, Jaydev Unadkat played a shot towards long on. The ball went to Harshal Patel standing there. He tried to take the catch, but the ball missed and went for a six. These 6 runs were useful for SRH and the team got a close victory by 2 runs.

• Dhawan missed the catch, Clausen did a superfast stumping.

While Punjab dropped 3 catches in the innings, SRH also started dropping catches in the powerplay itself. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled the second ball of the over on good length outside the off stump. The ball hit Dhawan's bat and went to first slip, fielder Abdul Samad standing here took an easy catch.

• After getting a lease of life on the score of 10 runs, Dhawan was dismissed by the superfast stumping of Heinrich Klaasen. Bhuvneshwar again bowled the fourth ball of the over outside the off stump. Dhawan went forward to play a shot, but he missed the ball and, in the meantime, Clausen, who was standing near the wicket, made a stumping.
