According to reports, Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli will retire from Test cricket before India's five-match series against England begins on June 20, 2025. Virat Kohli has notified the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) of his decision and is unlikely to change it in spite of the board's requests.
There is a big hole in India's Test team after the announcement, which comes just after former captain Rohit Sharma retired from red-ball cricket.

In conclusion, there has been no official declaration, but there are signs that Kohli will soon retire from Test cricket. It is likely that the meeting will take place before the selection of the Test squad, which is formally set for May 23. The BCCI has also scheduled a press conference to reveal the new Test captain, albeit the precise location of the selection committee meeting is yet unknown. In the next few days, the India A team that will travel to England is scheduled to be announced.
