VVS Laxman is the coach of the Indian team for the South Africa tour: Gautam Gambhir will go on Australia tour
Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman has been appointed the coach of Team India for the South Africa tour. Team India's head coach Gautam Gambhir has to go on the Australia tour. In such a situation, Laxman has been appointed the coach of the white ball team.
Cricket website Cricbaaz claimed that Laxman has been appointed the coach, although BCCI has not confirmed it. The Indian team has to go on a South Africa tour next month. This series will be played from November 8.
Along with Laxman, Sairaj Bahutule, Rishikesh Kanitkar and Subhadeep Ghosh associated with the National Cricket Academy will go as supporting staff. Bahutule was recently the head coach of India-A for the Emerging Asia Cup. Kanitkar was the batting coach and Subhadeep Ghosh was the fielding coach.
The team will leave for South Africa around November 4. India will play four T20 Internationals on 8, 10, 13 and 15 November in Durban, Gabera, Centurion and Johannesburg respectively. BCCI announced a 15-member squad led by Suryakumar Yadav for the four T20 matches on 25 October (Friday).
Team India clean swept 3-0 in the 3-match home series against Bangladesh this month. Hardik Pandya was the Player of the Series in this series. He scored 118 runs and also took a wicket. Also, in the third match, Sanju Samson scored his first century in T20 International.
