G11-Fantasy Cricket Prediction for Today's Match

Recently, news came that New Zealand added allrounder Zak Foulkes will play his maiden test. Now for Will O'Rourke, a promising fast bowler for New Zealand, will not play in the second Test match against Zimbabwe, which is set to start in Bulawayo on August 7, 2025. The tall bowler sustained a back ailment and will travel back to New Zealand for treatment after showing impressive numbers of 3 for 28 in the first Test's second innings.

Injury & Replacement

After his impactful bowling time, O'Rourke complained of back tension, so team medics pulled him from the game. Following evaluations, it was determined that he needed to rest and recover. Ben Lister, a left-arm seamer, has already been brought to Zimbabwe as injury cover and is expected to start in the second Test.

Career Highlight

O'Rourke has made a big impression on the Test scene at the young age of 22. With statistics of 9/93 against South Africa in February 2024, the England-born seamer, who stands at nearly 1.97m, made news by becoming the youngest New Zealander to take nine wickets on Test debut.

He has played 11 Test matches as of July 30, 2025, taking 39 wickets at an average of 24.28, including two five-wicket hauls, which showed his growing importance in New Zealand's speed arsenal.

Implications for the Series

New Zealand dominated the opening Test and now leads the two-Test series 1-0. Depending on the circumstances, selectors may rely more on seasoned candidates like Tim Southee, Matt Henry, or Mitchell Santner in O'Rourke's absence.
