Women's ODI World Cup 2025 schedule released: India-Pakistan match on October 5 in Colombo

The high-profile match between India and Pakistan in the Women's ODI World Cup will be played on October 5 at the neutral venue R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

India is going to host the Women's World Cup for the first time after 12 years, which will start on 30 September 2025. India is hosting the Women's World Cup for the first time since 2013.

28 league matches will be played in the tournament

In this tournament, 28 league matches and three knockout matches will be played at five venues Bengaluru, Indore, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam and Colombo.

At the same time, the first semi-final will be held on October 29 in Guwahati or Colombo (depending on Pakistan's arrival) and the second semi-final will be held in Bengaluru on October 30. The final will be played on November 2 in Bengaluru or Colombo.

 

India will start the campaign against Sri Lanka

India will start its campaign against Sri Lanka at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. While the match against Bangladesh will be played in Bengaluru on October 26.

All matches of Pakistan in Sri Lanka on hybrid model

All matches of Pakistan will be played in Sri Lanka on hybrid model. According to the hybrid agreement between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the Pakistan team will play all its matches at the neutral venue Colombo. These include matches against Bangladesh (October 2), England (October 15), New Zealand (October 18), South Africa (October 21) and Sri Lanka (October 24).

Defending champion Australia will play its first match in Indore

Defending champion Australia will start its campaign against New Zealand at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on October 1. After this, it will take on Pakistan in Colombo on October 8. At the same time, Australia and England will face each other in Indore on October 22.

The format of the 2025 tournament will be the same as in 2022: eight teams playing each other in a round-robin format with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals. Apart from hosts India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka qualified directly. The last two spots were taken by Pakistan and Bangladesh in the qualifiers held in Lahore earlier this year. West Indies are not a part of the tournament, having lost to Bangladesh in the qualifiers on the basis of net run-rate.
