According to reports, BCCI wanted to hold the second season of the Women's Premier League in different stadiums in the same state. Because matches being held in the same state make management easier.
BCCI had taken out 2 options for Maharashtra and Gujarat. But all the matches of Season 1 were played in Mumbai, hence it is not being hosted this time. Whereas the spectator capacity of Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad would have been too much for the tournament. Therefore, BCCI dropped both these stadiums and finally agreed on Delhi and Bengaluru.
