Afghanistan created history, restricted South Africa to 106

The South Africa team made its lowest score against Afghanistan.

Afghanistan has created history by defeating South Africa for the first time in any format. On Wednesday, in the first ODI at Sharjah ground, the team bowled out South Africa for 106 runs. Then achieved the target by losing 4 wickets in 26 overs.

Afghanistan's fast bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi took 4, Allah Ghazanfar took 3 and Rashid Khan took 2 wickets. In batting, Gulbadin Naib scored 34 and Azmatullah Omarzai scored 25 runs to give the team an easy win. With this, Afghanistan took a 1-0 lead in the 3 ODI series.

Afghanistan's historic win

Afghanistan defeated South Africa for the first time in all three formats. Earlier, 3 T20 and 2 ODIs were played between the two teams. South Africa won all of them. Afghanistan has now turned the history around and defeated South Africa.

Both the teams last faced each other in the semi-finals of T20 World Cup on 26 June this year. Then South Africa had all out Afghanistan for 56 runs. South Africa then won the match in just 9 overs. Afghanistan has now leveled the score and all out South Africa for 106 runs in ODI. Then won the match in just 26 overs.

Wayne Mulder hit a fifty

Winning the toss and batting first, South Africa had a very bad start. The team lost 7 wickets at the score of 36 runs. Tony De Georgi could score only 11, Kyle Varian 10 and Reeza Hendricks 9 runs. 3 batsmen could not even open the account, while captain Aiden Markram could score only 2 runs.

Wayne Mulder then hit a fifty and took the team past the 100-run mark. Born Fortune scored 16 runs with him. Nandre Burger scored one run, while Lungi Ngidi could not even open the account. The team could only score 106 runs in 33.3 overs.

Farooqi gets 4 wickets

Fast bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi from Afghanistan took 4 wickets for 35 runs. Off-spinner Allah Ghazanfar took 3 wickets for just 20 runs. While Rashid Khan took 2 wickets for 30 runs. One batsman was also run out.

Afghanistan also had a bad start

Chasing the target of 107 runs, Afghanistan lost 3 wickets for 35 runs. Riaz Hasan could score only 16 and Rahmat Shah 8 runs, Rahmanullah Gurbaz could not even open the account. The team's score had just crossed 50 runs when captain Hasmatullah Shahidi was also out after scoring 16 runs.

Omarzai-Gulbadin took the team to victory
