After 13 innings without a fifty in T20Is, captain Litton Das spearheaded the attack with 76 off 50 balls, including five sixes. Towhid Hridoy contributed to a significant third-wicket partnership with a strong 31 off 25. Shamim Hossain added important runs and energy in the late overs with a fast 48 off 27, but he was run out in the last over. For Sri Lanka, Binura Fernando was important, claiming 3/31.

Sri Lanka’s Collapse

After early setbacks, Sri Lanka collapsed to 94 all out after losing crucial wickets during the powerplay. The only significant resistance was Pathum Nissanka, who scored 32 off 29 to take first place. 

The bowling team from Bangladesh worked well together: Mustafizur Rahman and Mehidy Hasan Miraz each claimed a wicket, Mohammad Saifuddin took 2/21, Shoriful Islam contributed 2/12, and Rishad Hossain spearheaded the attack with 3/18.

Both teams are confident going into the series' pivotal third Twenty20 International, although Bangladesh was obviously in the lead going into Dambulla.
