BCCI will release 4 lakh tickets for the World Cup

BCCI will release 4 lakh tickets for the World Cup: will be able to buy from 8 pm on September 8

Ticket sales for the league matches of the World Cup began on 25 August.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will release 4 lakh tickets for the World Cup. Fans will be able to buy these tickets from 8 pm on September 8. The tickets for India's matches for the World Cup were sold out within 10 minutes. Many fans could not even get a chance to buy tickets, after which they expressed their displeasure on the Internet.

After the outrage, BCCI said that fans are the real life of cricket in India. In view of this, the board decided to release extra tickets for the tournament. The ODI World Cup will start from October 5. The entire tournament is to be held in India only.

Decision taken after talking to State Association

BCCI issued a media release saying that the board will start a new phase for ticket sales on September 8. The board said, 'There is a lot of demand for World Cup tickets, due to which the fans could not get tickets. In view of this, the board talked to the hosting state association and has decided to release about 4 lakh tickets.

Will be able to buy tickets from the official website

BCCI said, 'The general ticket sales of the Cricket World Cup will start from 8 pm on September 8. Fans will be able to buy tickets from the official website of ICC  cricketworldcup.com. Even after this, if the need arises, the fans will be informed about the next phase of ticket sales.

Bharat tickets were sold in 6 different phases

Tickets for India's World Cup matches were sold in 6 different phases, but all tickets were sold out within minutes of ticket sales starting. Tickets for the India-Pak match were sold on 3rd September, these were also sold out within a few minutes. After this, fans criticized BCCI and Book My Show (ticket-selling website) on social media. It was said that BCCI had released only 15 to 25% of the total tickets for sale.

Even the India-Pakistan match which will be played on October 14 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, very few spectators could get tickets for that match. Whereas the spectator capacity of this ground is one lakh 32 thousand. It is being claimed in the reports that some tickets for this match are being sold in black for a price ranging from Rs 10 to 55 lakhs.

All tickets for India's matches sold out

Apart from India, World Cup tickets for matches of other teams started selling from 25 August. Tickets for all the league stage matches including the warm-up matches of Team India have been sold out. But the match tickets of the rest of the teams are still being sold on the official website of the ICC.
