A new update has come regarding the back injury of Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah will start rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
He was scanned at the BCCI's National Cricket Academy. According to media reports, there has been a discussion between the medical team and the BCCI regarding the scan report. Now his physical activity will be focused on for the next 24-48 hours. During this time he is likely to start some gym work and light bowling.
Whether Bumrah plays or not in the Champions Trophy will depend on this report. At present he is included in the squad. Bumrah was selected in the team for the ODI series being played against England. However, a day before the start of the series, Varun Chakraborty has been included in his place.
If Bumrah is not fit, BCCI will wait
The source said, if there is even a 1 percent chance of Bumrah being fit, then BCCI can wait. The board did the same with Hardik Pandya in the 2023 ODI World Cup as they waited for about two weeks before taking Prasidh Krishna as a replacement.
