ENG v IND 2025 4th Test Day 5: Sunder And Jadeja’s Ton, Match Drawn

On 28 July, the final day of the 4th test match of India's 2025 tour of England in Manchester, the match was drawn. India 2nd innings scored 425/4. Washington Sunder smashed his maiden test century with Ravindra Jadeja, who also scored a century. At the end of the final day of the 4th test was a draw. England leads the 5-match test series by 2-1.

Gill, Jadeja, and Sunder's massive century, India 0/2 to 425/4

Despite slipping behind by 311 runs at the beginning of their second innings, India was able to keep alive the Test match in a close draw. India kept going, batting through five sessions for their 425/4, guaranteeing that the last match at The Oval would be the series decider. Courage under extreme stress was shown by Shubman Gill, who led the rescue with a cool 103, his fourth century of the series. Excellent support was provided by KL Rahul, who scored a crucial 90 before being removed by Ben Stokes, the injured captain of England.

Ravindra Jadeja (107)* and Washington Sundar (101)* made an undefeated partnership of more than 200 runs, underscoring Jadeja's significant contribution as a bowler and hitter.

England's first captain scored a century and took 5 wickets in the same match

Ben Stokes (141), who became the first England captain to make a Test century and take a five-for in the same game, and Joe Root (150) both contributed hundreds to England's massive 669 in the first innings.

Decider Match: India Needs To Win the Last Test Match to Draw the Series

After the 4th test match draw, India need to win the 5th and final test match at The Oval on 31st July. The 5-match test series is now led by England by 2-1. The result of the 4th match will give the confidence to India for the last test match.
